Research Instructor
The School of Biological Sciences, Division of Cell Biology and Biophysics has an immediate opening for a Research Instructor. The minimum qualifications are a Ph.D. in Microbiology, Biochemistry, or a related field. Also required is 2 years post-doctoral research experience in one or more of the following areas of cell biology, molecular biology, genetics and/or microbiology. The successful candidate will have excellent written and verbal communication skills and a record of research accomplishment. Responsibilities of the position include, conducting laboratory research on the cellular effects of bacterial toxins, developing new laboratory protocols, and research laboratory management. Desired areas of technical expertise include common gene cloning and analysis procedures, gene expression techniques, mammalian and bacterial cell culture and protein purification experience. Research Assistant
Immediate opening in a cell/structural biology laboratory for a full-time research assistant with bachelor's degree in biology or a related science. The individual must have excellent communication skills, and some experience in general laboratory procedures. This position will include transmission electron microscope operation, sample preparation, image analysis and photography; any relevant experience is advantageous, but thorough training will be provided. Salary will be negotiated commensurate with the individual's experience.
